Here is how Birmingham City and Aston Villa will line up this weekend:

Birmingham City welcome Aston Villa to St. Andrews this afternoon for their latest Championship clash.

The fierce rivalry between the two teams should make for an entertaining encounter and both teams are desperate for the three points.

Birmingham are currently 21st in the table with just 11 points from their first 13 matches. As a result the Blues are just a single point above the relegation zone, although they do have a game in hand over Burton Albion who are directly below them.

Villa’s recent good form means they are sixth as things stand, occupying the final play-off place and with a realistic chance of returning to the top flight come May.

There is of course a lot of football to be played between now and then, but Villa manager Steve Bruce will know he has no excuse if his side falls short at the business end of the campaign.

Villa could move up to fourth with a win and they have the players to ensure they leave St. Andrews with all three points.

If Birmingham get the better of Villa they will also jump a couple of places but will know there is a huge amount of work still to be done.
