Barnsley and Aston Villa lock horns in the Championship this evening, with the two teams looking for the three points, but for very different reasons.

Barnsley have been one of the surprise packages this season having won promotion last term, and they sit seventh in the table with 15 points to their name already.

Two defeats in a row have dented the Tykes a little, and manager Paul Heckingbottom will be looking to get back to winning ways this evening in the hope of keeping in touch with the top six.

Heckingbottom has sprung a surprise by leaving both Adam Hammill and Sam Winnall on the bench, whilst Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent starts, with Adam Armstrong – on loan from Newcastle – named as a substitute.

Meanwhile, Villa are searching for just their second win of the season, and are looking to snap a run of four successive draws this evening.

The pressure is mounting on manager Roberto Di Matteo, and he’s moved away from the 3-5-2 system that started against Newcastle on Saturday in favour of a 4-2-3-1 system, with Jordan Ayew presumably playing behind Jonathan Kodjia.

Jack Grealish returns from a club-imposed suspension and starts on the left, whilst Aaron Tshibola – who scored the late equaliser against Newcastle – starts with Mile Jedinak in midfield.

Ross McCormack is named on a strong bench this evening, which contains the likes of Rudy Gestede, Ashley Westwood and Jordan Amavi.
