Aston Villa will be looking to return to winning ways in the Championship this evening when they take on Cardiff City at home.
Villa will head into the match against Cardiff at Villa Park on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Norwich City away from home at Carrow Road in the league.
The loss at the hands of Norwich last Saturday afternoon has dented the Villans’ chances of finishing in the top two of the Championship and winning automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
On the other hand, Cardiff are very much in the race to finish in the top two along with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Neil Warnock’s side, though, also lost their last league fixture, going down 1-0 to Championship leaders Wolves at the Cardiff City Stadium last Friday evening.
The Bluebirds are second in the league table at the moment with 80 points from 40 matches, while Villa are seven points behind them in fourth having played a game more.
