Aston Villa take on Brentford in the Championship this evening.
Aston Villa starting line-up: Gollini, De Laet, Elphick, Chester, Cissokho, Westwood, Jedinak, Ayew, McCormack, Kodjia, Gestede.
Aston Villa substitutes: Bunn, Baker, Richards, Bacuna, Green, Gardner, Amavi.
Brentford starting line-up: Bentley, Colin, Egan, Bjelland, Dean, Clarke, Woods, Yennaris, MacLeod, Sawyers, Hogan.
Brentford substitutes: Bonham, Saunders, McEachran, McCormack, Vibe, Kaikai, Barbet.
Aston Villa will be hoping to pick up a first win in four games as they take on Brentford at Villa Park this evening, with Roberto Di Matteo’s side notching three draws in four games.
Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest – where Villa came from a goal down before squandering a 2-1 lead – leaves Villa in 18th place after a mixed start to the campaign.
On the one hand, Villa have lost just twice in the last five games, but haven’t won in four games, and fans will be hoping to see their side win this evening.
Summer signing Mile Jedinak is fit to start having been an unused substitute against Forest on Sunday, and he partners Ashley Westwood in the heart of midfield.
Manager Di Matteo has surprisingly gone with four strikers tonight in Jordan Ayew, Ross McCormack, Jonathan Kodjia and Rudy Gestede, and it remains to be seen how those four line up, with Jack Grealish out of the squad.
Meanwhile, Brentford are able to call upon in-form striker Scott Hogan in attack, whilst defender Andreas Bjelland will lead the Bees’ defence.
Summer signings John Egan, Daniel Bentley and Romaine Sawyers all start, whilst there are places on the bench for Josh McEachran and Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai.
