The promising central defender has been sent out to gain experience.
Aston Villa youngster Janoi Donacien has joined Newport Country on a two-month load deal, as confirmed by the club’s official site.
The 21-year old re-joins John Sheridan’s side after spending time there in September – following a spell at Wycombe Wanderers in August – and will look to build on his productive period at Rodney Parade.
Donacien was part of the Villa squad that travelled to Portugal for pre-season this summer but given the ample options in central defence, it was deemed best he gain experience elsewhere.
He joins a Country side currently struggling in League Two – just two places off the bottom – and will hope to add more solidity to the the Exiles’ backline.
Villa’s own defensive problems have been plain to see this season and a solid spell away from Villa Park could give him a real chance of pushing for a first-team place next season – whether that’s in the Premier League or the Championship remains to be seen.
