Aston Villa take on Peterborough United in the FA Cup Third Round today.

Aston Villa starting line-up: Steer; Bree, De Laet, Terry, Taylor; Bjarnason, Hourihane, Onomah, Green; O’Hare; Davis.

Aston Villa substitutes: Bunn, Lansbury, Grealish, Elphick, Elmohamady, Hepburn-Murphy, Doyle-Hayes.

Aston Villa start their FA Cup campaign this afternoon as they take on Peterborough United at Villa Park in the third round of the competition.

Steve Bruce’s men hammered Bristol City 5-0 on New Year’s Day, and will be looking for a similarly strong performance against the Posh today.

Bruce has handed a start to Jed Steer in goal, whilst James Bree is also given a rare start in defence alongside Ritchie De Laet, John Terry and Neil Taylor.

Conor Hourihane partners Joshua Onomah in midfield, with Andre Green and Birkir Bjarnason out wide, and Callum O’Hare in an attacking midfield role.

Keinan Davis leads the line this afternoon, as Bruce is without both Scott Hogan and Jonathan Kodjia.

That means that Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is on the bench, alongside Jack Doyle-Hayes, Ahmed Elmohamady, Tommy Elphick, Jack Grealish, Henri Lansbury and backup goalkeeper Mark Bunn.
