Here is how Arsenal and Manchester City will line up for this evening’s match at the Emirates:
Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Rosicky, Flamini, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud
Subs: Fabianski, Bellerin, Jenkinson, Kallstrom, Gnabry, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanogo
Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Toure, Navas, Silva, Nasri, Dzeko
Subs: Pantilimon, Kolarov, Lescott, Milner, Garcia, Negredo, Jovetic
The big games keep coming for both these sides, with Arsenal hosting Manchester City knowing they must win to stay in touch in the title race.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men will have been boosted by their victory at Old Trafford last week, while Arsenal have to turn around a difficult run that is in danger of becoming a full-blown collapse.
The Gunners have no new injury concerns but remain without their long-term absentees, while City have David Silva available despite suggestions he could miss the game with an ankle injury.
Having won just two of their last nine matches against the Blues, Arsenal have a lot of work to do to improve on that record. That said, Arsene Wenger’s side are unbeaten at home in the league since the opening day of the season, so City may have to work harder than usual if they wish to claim all three points.
