Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been named in Ange Postecoglou’s first XI tonight.
The Hoops are gearing up for a tricky visit to Hearts.
Postecoglou’s side go into the game on the back of a 2-1 Scottish Cup victory at Alloa Athletic.
However, Carter-Vickers, a USA international, was absent for that clash.
But the Tottenham Hotspur loanee – valued at £6 million by the Premier League outfit – is available for tonight after not being called up by his country for the international break.
The same cannot be said for Daizen Maeda and Tom Rogic, both of whom were called up by Japan and Australia respectively.
The real story of Postecoglou’s team sheet is the inclusion of Matt O’Riley, who has been given a Celtic debut following his winter transfer to Glasgow.
Here’s how Celtic line up at Tynecastle, with eight changes coming in overall.
First XI: Hart, Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; Bitton, O’Riley, Hatate, Forrest, Jota; Giakoumakis
Subs: Bain, Jullien, Scales, Abada, Soro, McCarthy, Ralston, Welsh, Doak
Permanent deal?
Carter-Vickers has been sensational since joining the Bhoys on a season-long loan from Spurs.
However, the North Londoners’ asking price of £6 million is a steep one, though another solid performance from the defender tonight will only further convince the Scottish Premiership outfit to pay up.
According to Sky Sports, Celtic have the option to sign him permanently – and Jota, who also starts tonight – at the end of the season and another strong showing versus Hearts will only make it more of a formality.
