Speaking on Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand has been waxing-lyrical about Michail Antonio after he netted a late winner against Leeds United at the weekend.
Antonio has been in scintillating form this season, and despite being red-carded against Southampton earlier this season, he remains the joint-top scorer in the Premier League, netting five goals in as many appearances.
As you can imagine, Ferdinand has had nothing but good things to say about Antonio after another fantastic showing this weekend.
What’s been said?
Ferdinand was raving over Antonio.
“West Ham with the late winner, Antonio again, he is on fire by the way, absolute fire. It’s no wonder he’s the top scorer in Premier League history at West Ham,” Ferdinand said.
“His confidence, his confidence is at an all-time high.”

Form of his life
There’s no doubt about it, Michail Antonio is playing the best football of his life at the moment.
What has triggered this run of form? Well, as Ferdinand says, it may all be down to his confidence.
He’s playing in a winning team that are playing to his strengths, and with no other number nines breathing down his neck, he can play without a lot of pressure, knowing that he’s almost guaranteed a starting spot on a weekly basis.
If Antonio keeps this form up, he’ll certainly be a contender for this season’s Golden Boot award.
