Yannick Bolasie has posted on Twitter that Dele Alli has gained ‘confidence’ after scoring twice for Everton in pre-season.

After getting four goals put past them by an MLS side last week, Everton put four past Championship side Blackpool at Bloomfield Road to post their first win of pre-season on Sunday.

Pre-season is pre-season at the end of the day, but for the Toffees, given their situation, this was needed, just so they could dampen the negative noise around them.

They survived relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, they sold one of their best players to Tottenham and only free-transfer James Tarkowski has joined the club since.

It’s not exactly rosy in the garden for Lampard heading into the new Premier League season, which is only a few weeks away.

Nonetheless, following Dele Alli’s much-needed brace in pre-season, this is how Bolasie reacted on Twitter.

WHAT NEXT FOR DELE ALLI?

Following his move from Tottenham in January, it hasn’t worked out for the goalscoring midfielder, who is at a crossroads in his career.

For a number of years, he stagnated in Tottenham colours, before they eventually let him go and he jumped on the burning ship of Everton’s.

That fire was managed to be put out last season, as fans will be hoping it doesn’t light up again because there is a big risk that it will.

But can someone like Dele Alli showcase his old form? There are suggestions that the Merseyside giants could sell the player and cut their losses with him.

If that’s the feeling inside the club, then it’s another signal as to how far his career is falling because, at this rate, another Premier League team won’t take a look at him.
