Wiedwald left Leeds last summer to return to Germany.

It has been a tough couple of years for Felix Wiedwald. Signed by Leeds United from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2017, the German was viewed as a bargain at just £500,000 (Express) – after a season, he returned to Germany.
The stats do not tell the whole story. The 28-year-old made 30 appearances for the Whites throughout 2017-18 as Rob Green’s replacement, conceding only 37 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.
A decent return, but he was dropped twice throughout the campaign. Firstly by veteran Andy Lonergan, and then youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell. He was completely ostracised by Paul Heckingbottom.
The one-time Germany Under-20 international failed to make a single appearance from March onwards for Leeds, and he was sold to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt a year after joining.
Signed as a back-up keeper, Wiedwald failed to make a single appearance for his new side throughout the entire first half of this season. He was sent on loan to second-tier outfit MSV Duisburg, but his situation has hardly improved.
He finally made his first professional appearance since a 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in March 2018 for Duisburg on January 29, but his side suffered a 2-1 loss to VFL Bochum.

He has since made three appearances in total for Duisburg, conceding seven goals. The German has come under criticism since his move, and is now in danger of being dropped once again.
A Victor Orta dud, it seems as though the colossal German has failed to recapture the form that saw him become Werder’s number one goalkeeper.
