Some Arsenal fans have offered a mix reception to footage of William Saliba last night.
The French centre-back started for Nice in their 2-1 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.
Saliba, who joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from Arsenal during the winter transfer window, has found his feet since returning to his homeland and was awarded their Player of the Month for January.
The 19-year-old officially joined the Gunners in 2019 but hasn’t yet made a competitive appearance since returning to North London last summer following a loan with former club Saint-Etienne.
But there was no indication that Saliba’s short on confidence by virtue of one incident against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The towering youngster displayed major composure during one moment in the first half, staying calm under the pressure from one PSG player pressing him deep in his own half.
But dithering in possession led to Saliba being under pressure in the first place and here’s what some Arsenal fans are saying.
It’s worth pointing out that he’s still only a teenager.
Saliba’s been getting talked about by Arsenal fans for 18 months, but he’s still just a kid in football terms and although he’s raw, there have been a lot of examples as to why the North Londoners spent £27 million on him in the first place.
