Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez has claimed that his side ‘completely outplayed’ Tottenham Hotspur yesterday in the London Evening Standard

Spurs won 2-1 in the North London derby, with Heung-Min Son and Toby Alderweireld both on the scoresheet.

But Martinez feels that Tottenham got lucky, and says they had Hugo Lloris to thank for preserving the three points.

“I am not proud at all, I hate losing,” Martinez said. “I hate it to be honest.

“I know what it means to supporters, we made two silly mistakes with the goals and we have gave them two chances. It is what it is.

“We completely outplayed them in the second-half, when we play that well we need to score goals.

“I thought we created chances but not enough to score. Auba had a great chance and then Hugo [Lloris] made a great save. We have to put them in.”

Martinez’s claim about Arsenal’s performance may be slightly generous to his side.

While the Gunners did have more of the ball, Tottenham created some strong chances.

Harry Kane had a couple of presentable opportunities, while Ben Davies also hit the bar from long-range.

Tottenham’s win has pushed Jose Mourinho’s side back ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table, and they have now moved into eighth place in the standings.
