QPR striker Lyndon Dykes may be an upgrade on Alfredo Morelos at Rangers, former Scottish Premiership ace Tam McManus tells Ibrox News.
What Dykes lacks in a prolific goalscoring record, he more than makes up for in height, physicality and presence. The ‘Gold Coast Goliath’, if you will.
Australia-born Dykes can be unplayable on his day and promises to give Rangers a totally new dimension should Mick Beale succeed in luring his former QPR stalwart back to Scotland.

Rangers, GiveMeSport say, are keeping very close tabs on the one-time Livingston frontman. And with the soon-to-be out-of-contract Morelos a seemingly a fading force at Ibrox, McManus believes Dykes would be a more-than useful replacement.
Rangers could reunite Mick Beale with QPR striker Lyndon Dykes
“He would be,” McManus argues when asked if Dykes would be an upgrade on Morelos. “I watched QPR vs Sheffield United and he was man of the match. He’s a big target man. Have Rangers got that? Not really.”
Standing at 6ft 2ins, Dykes – labelled a ‘bully’ by Beale during their time together at Loftus Road – is likely to command a sizeable fee even if his QPR contract expires in the summer of 2024.
“Depending on how much QPR want – they paid like £2 million for him – they’d want a decent amount of that back. It just depends if Rangers have got that kind of money for January. Can they afford £3 – 4million on a striker? I don’t know,” McManus adds.
“But if so, I think Dykes can score goals in the Scottish Premiership. I think Rangers supporters would take to him because of his energy, high intensity and work rate.
“You want to see strikers working hard and he’s the complete opposition of Morelos at the minute. That’s one that Rangers fans wouldn’t mind seeing.”
Dykes scored 12 goals in 33 games for a mid-table Livingston during his one and only full season in the Premiership back in 2019/20.
Morelos, meanwhile, played just 45 minutes in Rangers’ 2-0 win at Dundee United on Sunday.
