The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur striker has raved about Weissman, and has urged Celtic to make a quick move for the 24-year-old forward.
The Telegraph reported in May of interest from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in signing the Israel international as a potential long-term replacement for Odsonne Edouard (click here to read more).
Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has claimed on Twitter that the Wolfsberger AC forward will join Real Valladolid.
Former Israel international forward Rosenthal has spoken highly of his compatriot Weissman.
Rosenthal told The Sunday Post about Weissman: “I heard all those stories about Celtic looking to sign Weissman this summer. It is natural that they would want to sign him, as he is now a proven goalscorer.
“But if there is a time to sign him, it would be now before it is too late. I watched a lot of the games he played in, and some of the goals he scored he took fantastically well.
“Celtic should certainly be in for him if they are still looking for another striker, but they might not want to leave it for too long.”
Missing out
Celtic recently signed Albian Ajeti from West Ham United, and now manager Neil Lennon has three senior strikers in his squad.
However, Leigh Griffiths has not been at his best for a while now, and the Glasgow giants could do with another striker.
While Weissman would be a good signing for the Hoops, it seems that he is on his way to Valladolid in Spain.
