Chris Coleman raved about reported Tottenham Hotspur target and Swansea City central defender Joe Rodon on ITV (8:47pm, October 8, 2020).
The former Wales international defender and manager was impressed with the display produced by Rodon against England at Wembley Stadium in London in a friendly international on Thursday evening.
Coleman was on co-commentary duty for ITV, and he was impressed with how the 22-year-old Wales international centre-back played against the Three Lions.
According to The Guardian, Tottenham are interested in signing the youngster and are favourites for his signature ahead of Premier League rivals West Ham United.
However, according to the report, Swansea could ask Spurs to get the youngster back on loan for this season.
Coleman said about Rodon on ITV (8:47pm, October 8, 2020): “I have been impressed with Joe Rodon at the back. He has had a lot of his mind, Joe, obviously with the transfer window.
“Is he going to Tottenham or is he not going to Tottenham? But I tell you what, he has done well in this first half, he won’t come up against many better players than he is up against at the moment.”
Good performance from Joe Rodon
Rodon did well for Wales against England in the first half, as he looked comfortable at the back, was tidy with the ball, and read the game well.
According to WhoScored, the Wales international had a pass accuracy of 89.8%, won two headers, took 52 touches, and made one tackle and one clearance.
The youngster is still developing and progressing, and under Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho, he would get better.
