The former Wales international striker rates Brooks highly, and believes that the Bournemouth midfielder is good enough to play for the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United.
Blake, who played for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City among other clubs, has outlined the attributes of the 23-year-old.
Earlier this month, WalesOnline reported of interest in Brooks from Leeds and Tottenham.
Blake told The Manchester Evening News about Brooks: ”I think he’s a great player, he’s got great game intelligence. He can play anywhere, central midfield, centre-forward, left-wing or right-wing and to do that you need a great understanding of football, which he’s got, versatility comes with that.
“He can be dominant because he understands the game, just like Ryan Giggs was when he moved from the left into central positions.
“Brooks I think is possibly, other than Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, Wales’ best player. I think he’d be at home at any level, I think he’s that good a player. I look at him and think he could play for anybody: Barcelona, Juventus, Man United – I think he’s that kind of boy.”
Good signing for Leeds United or Tottenham Hotspur?
With Bournemouth having been relegated from the Championship at the end of last season, the Cherries could be open to selling some of their best players including Brooks.
The 23-year-old had injury problems last season, but there is no doubt that the midfielder is a very talented player.
The Wales international would make Leeds or Tottenham better in the middle of the park, and given his young age, he could prove to be a good investment in the long run.
According to WhoScored, Brooks made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League last season, and made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the league during the 2018-19 campaign.
