Craig Moore has raved about reported Rangers and Celtic target Lyndon Dykes to The Glasgow Evening Times.

The former Rangers central defender has been impressed with Dykes, and he is not surprised that Old Firm rivals Celtic and the Gers are reportedly interested in him.

The Daily Mail reported in June of interest from Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic in Dykes.

The report claimed that Livingston value the 24-year-old striker at £2 million.

Former Australia international centre-back Moore has been impressed with his compatriot Dykes.

Moore told The Glasgow Evening Times: “He is a good player, he has shown he can adapt to the Scottish game and physically he has made a bit of a name for himself because he is probably the one striker in Scotland who’s been able to ruffle the feathers of both Celtic and Rangers and compete with their central defenders.

“If you are scoring goals and doing well at another club Celtic and Rangers are normally going to be interested. He has put himself in a fantastic position. There is a lot of interest in him in England and Scotland. I am sure at the right time he will move.”

Rangers or Celtic move?

Dykes is a very good forward who did well for Livingston last season, as he scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 25 Scottish Premiership matches, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The 24-year-old would be a good signing for Rangers or Celtic, and would be a reliable back-up to Alfredo Morelos or Odsonne Edouard.

However, with Jermain Defoe a capable striker and Leigh Griffith being so experienced, Dykes could end up being the third-choice striker at the Gers or at the Bhoys.

Rangers and Celtic are competing for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
