Bayern Munich star Thiago has raved about Leeds United summer signing Rodrigo to Goal.com.
Thiago has compared his Spain international teammate Rodrigo to his Bayern Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski.
The former Barcelona central midfielder has raved about the 29-year-old, who can operate as a striker or as a winger.
Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, recently signed Rodrigo from Valencia in the summer transfer window.
Thiago told Goal.com about Rodrigo: “He has a huge ability for scoring goals. It’s great that he helps us to press, to run.
“I see similarities with Lewandowski, who has scored a number of obscene goals – but Rodrigo has also scored goals.”
Excitement for Leeds United fans
Rodrigo is a very good player who presses hard and has a very good work ethic, and the aforementioned comments from Thiago will only enhance the idea that he is a brilliant signing for Leeds.
While the attacker is not very prolific, much of it has to do with the fact that he was playing for a Valencia side that did not have a great season and he was not always deployed as a striker.
Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world and has just finished a stunning season, and it is quite a claim from Thiago to suggest that there are similarities between the Polish star and Rodrigo.
