Aston Villa have cut ties with Yannick Bolasie.

Aston Villa have terminated Yannick Bolasie’s loan spell after an inconsistent spell at the club, SkySports report.
Bolasie had only completed 90 minutes twice over the last two months and manager Dean Smith clearly wishes to try other options.
It’s a shame for Bolasie, and for Smith himself who held high hopes of getting the winger performing at the level he once did.
In his first few weeks after taking over, Smith had high praise for the Everton winger.
He told the club website: “I am really pleased with how he’s responded. I thought he was a real threat when he came on against Bolton.
“He looked powerful. He looked quick. He looked strong. He looked a bag full of tricks. That’s what I remember of him.”

Three months on and Villa have terminated Bolasie’s deal.
The decision makes Smith’s comments look remarkable, not because he was wrong to make them, but how his opinion of Bolasie has sharply fallen over the past few weeks.
Smith clearly wanted Bolasie’s loan spell to work, and it’s a shame all round it did not.
