Arsenal have enjoyed a very decent transfer window so far.

The addition of Oleksandr Zinchenko is Arsenal’s latest recruit in what’s been a good summer in terms of signings.

Zinchenko follows former Manchester City teammate Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos to the Emirates Stadium.

The goal this season will be Champions League qualification, particularly after the heartbreak of last season.

The Gunners finished fifth under Mikel Arteta last time around but ESPN commentator Ian Darke does not believe they will improve this season.

In fact, in a graphic posted on ESPN’s YouTube channel, Darke has Arsenal finishing sixth – regression.

Is he right?

Well, he might be.

Despite Arsenal’s squad improving, they’ll be playing more competitions this season.

Remember, Arteta’s side are back in the Europa League and that’s a commitment that’ll see them playing every second Sunday for most of the first half of the campaign.

In other words, the Spaniard’s squad will be stretched a lot more than last season and they will, in theory, pick up more absences.

Going backwards really isn’t a controversial shout by Darke.
