Arsenal have decisions to make in the heart of defence this summer, and it seems that a talent in Brazil is on their radar.
The Gunners have to make a call on David Luiz. His 12-month deal has a year option on it, but Arsenal are yet to activate that option.
Shkodran Mustafi could leave, but William Saliba is coming in. Pablo Mari is only on loan from Flamengo, but may yet stay permanently.
There are a number of moving parts in the Arsenal back line. Mikel Arteta and co need to make some tough decisions, and more additions may yet come.
Back in March, Zero Hora in Brazil claimed that Arsenal were keen to sign Internacional defender Bruno Fuchs. They had allegedly been scouting him before the global pandemic hit.
Fuchs, 21, has emerged into the Internacional first team, and featured for Brazil’s Under-23’s in 2019. At 6ft 3in, Fuchs is a powerful defender and could be Arsenal’s latest addition from Brazil after Gabriel Martinell.

Now, DAZN commentator and journalist Gustavo Fogaca has spoken to Milan News about Fuchs, with AC Milan allegedly keen to sign him.
Fogaca claims that Arsenal are in the race alongside Milan and Porto, but no bids have been made yet, even though Internacional president Marcelo Medeiros is willing to sell.
“Yes, in addition to Milan, Arsenal and Porto also sent their scouts to Porto Alegre to analyse the player,” said Fogaca. “But for the moment, nobody has made a written proposal. However, the president of Internacional, Marcelo Medeiros, said he was willing to sell the young defender,” he added.
