Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after Robin van Persie sent Giovanni van Bronckhorst a message, after he replaced Steven Gerrard.

What’s the story?

Well, Van Persie knows Van Bronckhorst well, as the pair used to play for the Netherlands together.

They also spent time at Feyenoord, where Van Bronckhorst was Van Persie’s manager – the pair won the Dutch Cup together in 2018, and also the Johan Cruyff Shield.

After hearing the news, Van Persie wished the 46-year-old well as he embarks on a new challenge at Rangers.
