Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting to the latest reports about Denis Zakaria from Bild.

What’s the story with Zakaria?

Zakaria has long been touted for a move away from Borussia Monchengladbach, and it seems as though he could finally get a transfer in January.

Indeed, the Swiss midfielder is entering the final six months of his contract in Germany, and rather than losing him for free, Monchengladbach are willing to sell him for a cut-price fee.

Bild state that he’s available for just €7m (£6m), and there are plenty of Liverpool fans who think that represents an absolute bargain.

Liverpool on alert

Liverpool have been credited with an interest with Zakaria in the past, and this is exactly the type of move they should be looking at next month.

£6m is a bargain for any midfielder with Champions League experience, but when you factor in that Zakaria is just 25 years old and a fully-fledged international footballer this looks like an absolute snip.

The Reds could certainly do with more depth in midfield. They’ve had so many injury issues in that area so far this season, and the addition of Zakaria could alleviate many of those fears.

Fan reaction

Understandably, given Liverpool’s recent interest, these reports caught the eye of Liverpool supporters, and they were quick to take to social media to make their thoughts known.

Fans were clamouring for Zakaria to be signed, with one supporter even claiming that this deal sounded too good to be true.

Here’s what the Anfield faithful have been saying on social media…
