Joe Willock has posted on Reiss Nelson’s Instagram ‘coming for them’ as the Arsenal man posted pictures of him out on loan.
On transfer deadline day, Nelson made a temporary switch to Dutch giants Feyenoord, as he was struggling for game time at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old has come through the Hale-End ranks, just like Willock, and two of the club’s current stars in Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
But Willock and Nelson didn’t get the game time, nor were they able to break that first-team wall like the above duo have done.
Whilst Nelson still has a chance to prove himself when he returns from loan, Willock, on the other hand, has found a new home in Newcastle.
He was their big-money signing in the summer and there may well be plenty more of where that came from following the takeover of the club.
Given that Newcastle are now the richest club in the world, in terms of the wealth their new Saudi owners have, then they might just be following in the footsteps of Manchester City and Chelsea during these coming years.
And Willock, who moved to St James’ Park to be one of their main men, might find by this time next season that his place will be under threat.
There will surely be money thrown into this project from the get-go, if not, next summer the Magpies will make moves.
It has big bearing on Arsenal because they are trying to get back into the Champions League places and another team might just get in their way during these coming years.
