Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been discussing Arsenal’s squad composition next season and William Saliba.
While Arsenal are flying at the moment, Campbell believes that the Gunners still need to add a lot to their squad, asking for multiple midfielders and multiple attackers to be added in the summer.
Meanwhile, Campbell seemed a lot more happy with the defensive situation, claiming that the returning William Saliba will be like a new signing for the Gunners.
What’s been said?
Campbell spoke about next season’s Arsenal squad.
“Really, we need two or three midfielders in, that’s not including the other positions. We need two strikers, another forward, and Saliba is coming back, and he’s going to be like a new signing, and maybe we need another defender or two. We need two players for every spot because when we do rotate we’re nowhere near as strong.”

Spot on about Saliba
Campbell says that Saliba will be like a new signing for Arsenal, and he’s not wrong.
The French centre-back has been fantastic in Ligue 1 this season, and he’s even earned a France call-up.
Now, usually, you’d pay north of £30m to sign a 21-year-old defender who is making the France squad, but, luckily for Arsenal, Saliba is already a Gunner.
Whether or not he can challenge Ben White or Gabriel for a starting spot remains to be seen, but he will certainly be a solid depth option should Arsenal choose to keep him.
