West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice, told LADbible that he wouldn’t swap boots with any player other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Given that West Ham are sitting in the Champions League places and might lock horns with some of the big boys next term, Rice then jokingly urged Messi to come to the London Stadium.
If the Hammers continue in their current ways then at least one of the superstar players in Europe, from a Kylian Mbappe to Messi himself, might be strutting their magic on the East London pitch in 2021/22.
Nonetheless, when talking about the type of boots he wears, Rice was asked whether he would swap boots with anyone.
“No, unless it was Messi or Ronaldo,” said Rice. “I don’t think I would be asking for another pair of boots.
“I think that would be a little awkward. ‘Yeh, mate can I have your boots?’.”
Rice is then told that West Ham are currently in the top four and he never knows because he might see them next season.
Rice then joked: “Listen, Messi, can I take everything? The socks, the shoes and the pads. Come to West Ham, Messi. We will take him any day.”

Never mind West Ham potentially facing off against Messi next season, he might be donning the colours of a Premier League club if he leaves Barcelona.
It was well-documented last summer that he wanted to leave the Nou Camp and England’s top-flight was mooted as a possible destination.
That would be some sight for English fans, and if that pretty unlikely scenario were to happen then it’s pretty obvious that only one club in the land can afford to snap him up.
