Gabriel Agbonlahor has said on talkSPORT (7:45am, November 8, 2021) that he would take Rangers manager Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.
What’s the story?
Villa sacked Dean Smith as their manager yesterday.
It came following a run of five successive defeats in the Premier League.
The Villans are now dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Rangers boss Gerrard is among the candidates to now take charge of Villa, according to The Telegraph.
What Gabriel Agbonlahor has said
Former Villa striker Agbonlahor has said that he would take Gerrard at the Premier League club.
The talkSPORT pundit has said that the former Liverpool midfielder should leave the Ibrox club for the Villans now.
Agbonlahor said about Gerrard on talkSPORT (7:45am, November 8, 2021): “I would love him to come. Watching his passion on the side with Rangers, watching how Rangers play football, I think he would be a great signing for Aston Villa.
“I feel like with Rangers, what more can he do for them? He has won the title with them after such a long time of not winning it.
“I feel it’s the right time now for him to come to Aston Villa, and that might be a stepping stone for him.”

Could Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa happen?
In our view, Rangers manager Gerrard will not leave for Villa now.
Maybe at the end of the season, but not now.
After all, Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row.
Moreover, the Gers are also in the Europa League.
Gerrard – who earns £210,000 per month as salary at Rangers, according to Sportekz – seems happy at Ibrox right now.
