What a performance by Tottenham Hotspur-linked Olivier Giroud on Wednesday night.

The former Arsenal striker scored every goal for Chelsea as Frank Lampard’s side thumped Sevilla 4-0 in the Champions League.

In addition to a penalty, Giroud, linked with a move to Tottenham last month [Calciomercato], scored one with his right foot, one with his left and another with his head – a perfect hat-trick.

Spurs were also linked with a move for the France international last January, but he wound up staying in Stamford Bridge.

But struggling for regular football this season, there is every chance that he could leave West London next month – and some Lilywhites fans would love to see him under Jose Mourinho.

Here’s how Tottenham supporters reacted to his heroics last night:

A move for the former Gunner doesn’t make a great deal of sense right now.

After all, Carlos Vinicius scored twice under Mourinho last week in the Europa League and barring injury to him or Harry Kane, a third-choice striker isn’t logical.

If Giroud does leave Chelsea, it’ll be for regular football to boost his chances of making the France squad for Euro 2021, so joining up with the North Londoners doesn’t work.
