Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Matteo Guendouzi in training with the France national team.
The 22-year-old, who is still on Arsenal’s books, but donning the colours of Marseille this season, posted on Twitter about being in France colours.
In one image, Guendouzi can be seen making his way to camp, whilst in the other, he is all smiles with Bayern Munich star Dayot Upamecano.
If things go well then the Arsenal loanee might just be thrown into the deep end on Thursday evening.
France will lock horns with Roberto Martinez’s free-scoring Belgium side in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League.
Given what has happened to Guendouzi during his time in North London, Arsenal fans are glad that he is now being able to showcase his worth and be appreciated.
During the £8 million player’s (Sky Sports) early days at the Emirates, he showed promise under the stewardship of the now-sacked Unai Emery.
But as soon as Mikel Arteta walked through the doors, it has gone downhill for the hard-hitting midfielder.
Whilst he has impressed during his last two loan spells – Hertha Berlin and now starting brightly in Ligue 1, this does seem to be a call that might bite Arteta in the back.
If the Gunners continue to win and climb back up the table, then all will, of course, be forgotten about.
But if it continues to be indifferent then Arteta will hear and feel the wrath of his own fanbase.
