Arsenal fans on Twitter bombarded Konstantinos Mavropanos social media post and told their loaned out player that they would like him to come back to the Emirates.

The 22-year-old is currently out on-loan at German outfit Stuttgart and given the depth in Arsenal’s backline, he has to go elsewhere to earn regular game time.

The highly-rated William Saliba is a prime example of why Mavropanos was right to go out on loan because he has hardly had a kick.

But there will be a section of Arsenal fans who feel that both of the above players are better than a number of centre-back’s currently playing this season.

Some Arsenal fans do believe that a future awaits their 2018 signing, and whilst there are too many centre-backs on the books at the Emirates Stadium, he does have age on his side.

At this moment in time, summer signing Gabriel is thriving at the back for the Gunners, but he needs a regular partner to ride with.

David Luiz has proven that he can be trusted more in a back three than a back two, whilst Robert Holding struggled last time out against Aston Villa.

Arsenal’s record transfer deals

  1. Nicolas Pepe

    £72 million

  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    £56 million

  3. Alexandre Lacazette

    £52 million

  4. Thomas Partey

    45 million

  5. Mesut Ozil

    £42 million

Shkodran Mustafi is hardly part of the first-team picture, whilst the likes of Pablo Mari and Callum Chambers are on the sidelines with injuries.

Either way, Arsenal fans were quick to send their messages to Mavropanos last night:
