Arsenal and Manchester United both have squads with world class players.
Arsenal host Manchester United in the pick of the Premier League fixtures this evening in a huge match for both tams.
The Gunners will be looking for a win to get their Premier League title bid back on track while defeat for David Moyes’ side could mean an end to any chance of finishing in fourth place by the end of the season.
We’ve taken a look at the available players for both side, suggesting a combined eleven of the best players.
GK – Wojciech Szczesny
The Pole has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent players this season and his performances would allow any defence to play with confidence.
RB – Bacary Sagna
United have been unsure over who to play at right-back this season but Sagna has been another consistent player in this position for the Gunners.
CB – Per Mertesacker
The big German has that experience that any back four needs. Other than the occasional blip, he’s formed a great partnership with Laurent Koscielny.
CB – Laurent Koscielny
It’s for that reason that the Frenchman would also line up in central defence. He knows every inch of Mertesacker’s game and how to play around him.
LB – Patrice Evra
This is where the first Manchester United name comes into the side. Evra is a very good defender and is extremely efficient in attack, creating extra width.
RM – Antonio Valencia
If Theo Walcott was fir he’d be in this slot, but Valencia is a very good right sided winger. He has the pace to hurt any side on the counter attack and his final ball is one the only areas which needs work.
CM – Michael Carrick
Carrick is one of the best in the business when it comes to reading the play, making interceptions and occupying space.
CM – Juan Mata
Mata would need to be in the side because he’s got that ability to unlock an opposition defence in a second. He’s also great when it comes to controlling the tempo of the play.
AM – Mesut Ozil
Ozil would be at the top of the combined eleven, in behind the main striker. The German has gone cold in recent weeks but he’s another player who can change a game.
LM – Adnan Januzaj
Januzaj has been arguably the standout performer for Manchester United this season. He makes things happen out on the left wing and has a good relationship with Evra.
ST – Wayne Rooney
With Rooney up front, any side gets guaranteed quality and a good work ethic. Rooney can also drop into the midfield when the side is under extreme pressure.
