Leeds pulled off a coup by hiring Marcelo Bielsa in the summer, a move which seemed improbable at the time.

Bielsa has had an excellent start at Leeds, enhancing his reputation and pushing the club into the promotion race.

He will never be short of suitors, and just last week he was name-checked in Chile by a club director who said he wanted to hire him.

Angel Mosa, director of Chilean side Colo Colo told ADN that he wanted the Leeds boss at his club.

He said: “At one point I thought of Marcelo Bielsa, we would all be in another world if he were here, they are dreams that one has, he is doing a great job in England.”

Since he took over at Leeds, clubs in Portugal and now Chile have been connected with wanting to hire Bielsa, as well as the Saudi Arabia and Mexico national teams.

Bielsa is one year into a two-year contract at Leeds and it would not be a surprise to see his contract extended further if he achieves the ultimate goal of winning promotion.

The Argentine is particularly popular in Chile after his previous stint managing the national team at the 2010 World Cup.
