Aston Villa fan and former striker Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to react to the club’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley on Tuesday night.
Villa headed into the game having won just once so far in the Championship this season, and had drawn their last four games after a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
Aston Villa Manager Roberto Di Matteo applauds their fans
Reports from The Guardian earlier this week suggested that manager Roberto Di Matteo needed to get a win over either Barnsley or Preston North End this week to keep his job.
It looked to be going perfectly for Di Matteo as Jordan Ayew cut in from the left hand side to drive the ball home into the near post and put Villa 1-0 up.
However, as has been the case in many other games this season, Villa conceded right at the death as Sam Winnall grabbed a late equaliser for Barnsley.

The result means that Villa have taken just ten points from ten games this season, and the pressure remains on Di Matteo ahead of this weekend’s trip to face Preston.
After the final whistle at Oakwell, former Villa striker and current pundit Stan Collymore took to Twitter to offer his opinion on matters at Villa Park.

Collymore joked about Villa’s tendency to concede late goals, before suggesting that Di Matteo should be given five more games to improve things.
Collymore noted that the final game of the next five is the huge local derby with Birmingham City, and whilst he doesn’t want Villa to sack Di Matteo, the Italian must get results to keep his job.
