Federici is a good goalkeeper and has a lot of experience, and he will prove to an important signing for Forest.
The Reds narrowly escaped the drop to League One at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
The City Ground outfit will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
Mark Warburton’s side are sixth in the Championship table at the moment with nine points from five matches.
