The striker has been linked with a move away from Liverpool after falling down the pecking order.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has written in the Mirror that it would be borderline lunacy for Jurgen Klopp to sell Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
The Reds have been highly impressive this season and currently sit top of the Premier League table.
Their attacking prowess has been the most notable aspect of their play as they have scored a league-topping total of 30 goals so far.

One man who has not been a part of that is striker Daniel Sturridge who is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League this season.
There have been suggestions he could depart the club in the January transfer window as he does not fit into Liverpool’s plans, but Collymore says it would be near lunacy for Liverpool to let that happen.
“Daniel Sturridge will, I hope, get one more opportunity to prove himself at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp,” he wrote in the Mirror.
“Look at the header Sturridge scored for England against Scotland on Friday. It was a specialist central striker’s goal and, I hope, a reminder to Klopp of what Sturridge is capable of when given quality service.”
“The Reds’ boss is looking to add a new No.9 to his squad in January, but it would be borderline lunacy for him to let Sturridge leave when the transfer window opens.”

The former forward has also claimed that Sturridge would get 20 goals a season if he was played down the middle.
The striker has often found himself out of position for both club and country, with a selection of managers electing to use him out wide instead.
It was under Brendan Rodgers when he played centrally alongside Luis Suarez that he showed his goalscoring ability and Collymore believes he is very much a 20 goal a season striker in that role.
“I have to say that if a manager plays him in his preferred role, with the right players servicing him, he will get 20-plus goals a season,” he added.
“And not just 20 goals that are largely the third, fourth or fifth goals in a drubbing, he’s going to be the guy who has that one chance and takes it.”
