West Ham United lost against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend.
The Hammers suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League last Saturday afternoon.
Collins, who rejoined West Ham from Aston Villa in the summer of 2012 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £2.5 million, has revealed what he told his teammates after the defeat to the Reds.
“I said to the boys in the dressing room that we cannot dwell on what happened at Liverpool, as better teams than us have gone to Anfield and been steamrolled, so we’ve got to look at the video, look at what we did right and what we did wrong and move on to a huge game in Wales on Saturday,” Collins told West Ham’s official website.
Collins added: “We said in the dressing room, if we’d gone 1-0 up, it would have given us something to hang on to, so we were disappointed to go into half-time 1-0 down when we thought we’d played relatively well and coped with them.
“So, to come out in the second half and not play as we wanted to and concede some goals, we’re obviously disappointed.”

West Ham’s recent performances and results have been mixed, and there is still a danger that the London club could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
David Moyes’s side were always going to struggle against Liverpool, and the players should put the defeat behind them and move on.
What is important for the Hammers now is to put together a run of positive results, and increase the gap between themselves and the Premier League relegation zone.
