Collin Morikawa knew Brad Dalke very well indeed when he was younger.

Morikawa is six months older than Dalke and competed against the famous YouTube golfing sensation on a regular basis at junior golf level.

However, Dalke failed to kick on and compete at the very highest level as he got older, while Morikawa has gone on to become one of the very best golfers in the world.

Collin Morikawa has seven PGA Tour wins to his name, including two major championships, while Brad Dalke became a household name on the content creation scene.

Dalke is playing in the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour this week, and was just one stroke adrift of the leaders heading into the weekend.

The 28-year-old is clearly an extremely talented golfer, but exactly how good is he?

The PGA Tour star is clearly a huge admirer of Dalke.

Back in November 2025, Morikawa responded when asked whether Dalke is the best golfer in the world who is not a professional.

You know, I’ve known Brad Dalke forever, Morikawa said.

For sure he is (the best amateur), and I think he’s gotten a lot better.

I mean, he was a world-beater when he was 12, 13, even all the way through high school.

He was kind of like the guy, because he was beating everyone who was 17 when he was 12. That’s crazy.

So, you know, college, obviously, I think he won a national championship with Oklahoma.

But, you know, he didn’t quite do exactly what he wanted, and that’s part of golf, and that’s part of life.

So I’m happy to see him. I mean, it seems like he’s crushing it right now.

He’s having a good time, and having a lot of fun on camera.

Brad Dalke says whether he would like to compete professionally full-time

Dalke spoke to reporters in Germany after his second-round 66 at the BMW International Open on Friday.

He was asked whether he has ambitions to compete regularly on the DP World Tour or the PGA Tour at some point in the future.

“I don’t need to grind through tours, that’s not what I want to do, he replied.

“But if I were to play well at an event like this and somehow build off that – if I got a tour card, that would be awesome. I’d play 100%.”

One thing’s for sure, Dalke has the talent needed to compete at the very highest level of the game.

Whether he has the mentality required to do so remains to be seen, though.
