Colin Kazim-Richards has joined Celtic on a loan deal from Feyenoord until the end of the season.

Colin Kazim-Richards says that his meetings with Ronny Deila helped persuade him to join Celtic.

The 29-year-old attacker completed a move to Parkhead on loan from Feyenoord until the end of the season yesterday.

And Kazim-Richards admits that he had no plans to return to British football, before speaking to Deila about what Celtic could offer.

Kazim-Richards’ previous experience in British football came earlier in his career.

The Turkish international represented Bury, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United as a youngster, before Fenerbahce snapped him up back in 2007.

Since then, Kazim-Richards has spent most of time playing in Turkey, but Celtic moved quickly when he was made available by Feyenoord.

Kazim-Richards’ arrival at the Bhoys increases Deila’s options in forward areas, and it has also forced Nadir Ciftci to depart the SPFL champions on loan, with competition for places increasing.
