Aston Villa assistant boss Colin Calderwood speaks highly of Lewis Grabban.
Ahead of Aston Villa’s derby clash against Birmingham City, Villa assistant manager Colin Calderwood has hinted that Lewis Grabban could play in the match.
The 30-year-old forward joined Villa on the transfer deadline day on loan from Bournemouth, and he is in line for his first appearance in Claret and Blue.

However, he hasn’t played much since December, with his last appearance coming in a 1-1 draw against Birmingham City before Christmas.
Calderwood said that Grabban has been put through physical exercise and that he could feature in such a crucial game. He added that Grabban could be a good addition for the club.
“We’ve monitored him this week. We got him through some physical work and introduced him to players,” said Calderwood, as quoted by the Sunday Mercury (printed edition; 11/02/2018 – page 63).
“He’s going to be there or thereabouts I would imagine. He’s travelled and has been at a number of clubs so he’s well versed in joining a new dressing room. I think he’ll be a good addition.”
Villa are in red hot form at the moment, having won their last six Championship games. Steve Bruce’s side are third in the table and a victory here would take them above Derby.
