Alex Crook has claimed that Leicester City are now ‘confident’ about keeping Youri Tielemans this summer and the Arsenal transfer target could sign a new contract at the King Power Stadium, as he told talkSPORT.
The talkSPORT journalist added that if Arsenal were a Champions League club, then ‘he would be at Arsenal by now’, instead, talks of the 25-year-old heading to north London have gone ‘cold’.
The Gunners have added Fabio Vieira to the club’s ranks from Porto, with the title-winning coach unhappy at his sale to the English Premier League side.

Whilst Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus, is edging closer to donning the Arsenal colours, he was seen hugging Edu Gaspar recently.
Nonetheless, with Arsenal also keen to add Leicester’s technical brain, Tielemans, to their squad, it seems as though it might not happen now.
“They were hoping to sign Youri Tielemans,” said Crook. “That seems to have gone cold now. He may well sign a new contract at Leicester.
“If they were a Champions League club, then he would be at Arsenal by now.
“There are still rumblings, but the more it drags on, the more likely it is that he stays at Leicester. I know they offered him a very lucrative contract offer, matching that one which is on the table in north London. Possibly with even a release clause.
“So, I think Leicester City are confident of keeping him.”

WHO ELSE WILL ARSENAL TARGET?
After missing out on Champions League football, Arsenal needed to make some serious statements in the summer transfer market.
Whilst it doesn’t guarantee them Champions League football for next season, one of their issues from the previous campaign was a lack of quality and depth.
Well, if the likes of Jesus are added into the mix, possibly another midfield player, another defensive brain and perhaps even more goals added in.
Then, the Gunners should be one of the favourites to secure Champions League football for the following campaign after being pipped to the line by Tottenham last time out.
