‘Chaos’ could be making his way back into the Octagon soon, with talks already in motion.
Colby Covington did not step into the cage at all in 2025, following a setback to his title hopes over a year ago.
Joaquin Buckley brutally beat him in the main event of a UFC Fight Night in Tampa.
The defeat to Buckley came 12 months after Covington’s previous title bout against Leon Edwards, which also ended in a loss.
Covington has just one victory since 2020, and there have been calls for him to hang up his gloves. But instead of walking away from the sport, the 37-year-old is looking to make his return this summer – and it could be on one of the UFC’s biggest stages.
According to ‘Chaos’ himself, discussions are already underway.
Colby Covington in talks with UFC over White House card

On 14 June, the UFC is scheduled to hold a card at the White House as part of the celebrations for America’s 250th year of independence.
With President Donald Trump promoting the event, plenty of big-name fighters have expressed interest in being involved.
Covington has a decent shot at getting onto that card, given his well-known ties to Trump.
Talks are reportedly in progress for ‘Chaos’ to fight at the event, as the matchmakers are working on creating a blockbuster card.
“I’ve been negotiating with the UFC for the White House card. You know, that’s the one that I want,” Covington revealed during an appearance on Hot Cakes & Hot Takes podcast.
“I told them this is important to my legacy and important to my career.
“This would be the biggest fight I’ve ever had. To fight on the south lawn in front of the President would be the greatest honor of my career.
“We’re in negotiations right now.”
Colby Covington vs. Conor McGregor is not happening, says Dana White
Covington is not negotiating to fight Conor McGregor at the White House, at least according to what Dana White said recently.
White quickly dismissed the rumour of a Covington vs. McGregor headliner on 14 June, taking to the comments section of the social media account that had initially reported the potential fight.
“Total BS,” the UFC boss stated.
White has also said that matchmaking is already underway for this summer’s event, so fighters will not have to wait long to find out if they have made it onto the card.
