Colby Covington may not be fighting, but heβs found another way to be part of the White House festivities this June.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion has made it clear heβs unhappy with how things have played out. He wanted to fight during the national celebration, but wasnβt included in the lineup.
Covington had hoped his connections with President Donald Trump might help him land a spot, but that didnβt end up happening. Even so, heβs still found a way to make his presence felt at the event.
While he wonβt be stepping into the octagon, Covington has reportedly been offered a role outside of fighting for June 15th and seems open to taking it on.
Colby Covington says heβs been approached to corner a UFC fighter at the White House

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show on Wednesday, Covington said heβs been approached about cornering a fighter in Washington D.C. on June 14.
Nicking has accused Covington of βduckingβ him, claiming he turned down a fight between the two. While they wonβt be facing each other directly, βChaosβ could still have an impact on the match-up from outside the cage.
The middleweight prospect is set to take on Kyle Daukaus, and it appears Daukaus may be looking to add Nickalβs rival to his corner for the bout.
βI just might be attending, yeah,β Covington said when asked if he will be at the event.
βSomeone asked me to be their corner, so I might be there in attendance in someoneβs corner.β
When pressed if it was Daukaus who made the request, Covington replied:
βHeβs a great kid. Shout out to Kyle Daukaus. I never wanted to take that opportunity from him. Why would I take this great opportunity off his table when heβs worked hard, heβs paid his dues in the sport.
