The Newcastle United midfielder is impressing at Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle United fans are reacting after Martin O’Neill was asked to comment on Jack Colback’s contract situation at Nottingham Forest.
Colback moved to Forest on a season-long loan during Aitor Karanka’s reign and is a player O’Neill inherited on his return to the City Ground in January.
It is reported that Nottingham Forest have an option to sign the midfielder permanently at the end of his current spell, although his contract is due to expire then anyway.
In quotes published by the Chronicle on Monday, however, O’Neill claimed he wasn’t sure of the agreement with Newcastle, but said he will look into Colback’s situation in the near future, having yet to come to a decision over the player he previously managed at Sunderland.

Colback, a lifelong Newcastle supporter, has been an integral member of a Nottingham Forest side pushing for the play-offs this season, and has proved popular among the Reds faithful.
Nevertheless, several of a Magpies persuasion are hoping that O’Neill takes him off their hands – despite the suggestion the 29-year-old could still earn a new deal at St James’ Park.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
