Marketing emails can be annoying at the best of times.

Buy this, subscribe to that, enter this competition. It’s all a bit irritating isn’t it?

However, for a change, Newcastle United fans are actually buzzing over a marketing email.

Indeed, the club’s store sent out a promo in an attempt to get fans buying the new kits on Thursday afternoon, and the email had the slogan ‘A new start. A new better.’

Now we’re not experts in marketing, but this does seem to be a massive tease, especially with the rumours of the impending takeover doing the rounds right now.

Mike Ashley is reportedly close to selling the club, and that would certainly be ‘a new start’ for the club, hence the slogan.

We can’t imagine that this email would have been sent out accidentally and Newcastle supporters think this slogan can only mean one thing.

Usually, we would write off such theories, but these takeover rumours are rapidly gathering pace, and this seems to be yet another sign.

Here’s what the Toon Army have been saying online…
