Cody Gakpo has uploded his first Instagram post since joining Liverpool.
On Wednesday night, it was confirmed by the Reds that they had signed Gakpo in a £37 million deal [The Times] from PSV Eindhoven.
The Dutch outfit themselves announced on Boxing Day that Liverpool had agreed a fee for the Netherlands international.
But Gakpo himself has been tight lipped.
Even when the Anfield side announced it 36 hours ago, the 23-year-old pinned official club posts to his collection of content, rather than speaking out himself.
However, the new Liverpool winger has now reacted. Here’s what he posted:
The towering attacker uploaded a series of photos relating to his unveiling.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are home to Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City at Anfield tonight.
But unfortunately, the big man cannot make his eagerly-anticipated debut for Liverpool, as covered by HITC Sport.
Gakpo is being treated by Klopp as a World Cup returnee and having played no football since the Netherlands bowed out of the competition, he will need to get up to speed in training first.
But long term, the Dutchman will be a magnificent signing by Liverpool and it won’t be long before Cody Gakpo’s Instagram is filled with celebratory images, no doubt.
