Spain Under-19 head coach Santi Denia has told Marca that reported Liverpool target Ferran Torres is good enough to play for Manchester City.

Denia worked with the Valencia winger for the Spain Under-19 national football team, and he rates the 20-year-old highly.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool are interested in singing Torres from Spanish club Valencia in the summer transfer window, with the player’s release clause claimed to be €90 million (£80.22 million).

Denia told Marca about Torres: “I see him at Valencia, who are a top-level team, or at [Manchester] City, who are a team that are normally in the Champions League.

“City, Barcelona, [Real] Madrid… He knows that he can continue to grow at Valencia.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Torres has made 20 starts and five substitute appearances in La Liga for Valencia so far this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in the process.

The winger has also scored two goals and provided two assists in six Champions League matches for Los Che this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Football in England and Spain is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis, and it remains to be seen when the summer transfer window opens and how much money clubs are willing to spend on new players.
