Scotland coach Steven Reid has raved about Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney to The Sunday Post.
Reid has praised Tierney’s versatility, and has full confidence in his adaptability.
The former Celtic star is a left-back by trade, but he has played at right-back for Scotland.
Reid told The Sunday Post about Tierney: “Listen, I’d imagine Kieran’s favoured position is left-back, but he has the ability, and the temperament to play in numerous positions.
“There’s no doubt he could do it, and it’s good to see him get up to speed again. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to the next squad.”
Arsenal spell
Tierney joined Arsenal from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee reported by 90min to be worth £25 million.
The left-back has had injury and fitness issues, and the 23-year-old has not been able to make a huge impact at the Emirates Stadium.
According to WhoScored, the youngster has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.
Tierney has also provided two assists in four Europa League matches, and has played twice in the EFL Cup for Arsenal this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Arsenal exit rumour
According to 90min, Arsenal are ready to sell Tierney for less than the £25 million they paid to Celtic last summer.
The report has claimed that Leicester want the left-back, with the Foxes confident of signing the 23-year-old for £18 million.
Mistake
Tierney may not have been a huge success at Arsenal, but he is one of the best young left-backs around.
The Gunners should not cash in on him this summer, and must given him another season to show what he is capable of, especially as he has had injury problems this campaign.
