Bayer Leverkusen’s assistant coach Marcel Daum spoke to TalkSport about Kai Havertz.

The young German midfielder has been a revelation in the Bundesliga and it is no surprise that a number of clubs have taken an interest in him.

Liverpool are said to be his biggest admirers (Express) while Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be keeping tabs. (Goal)

Daum, who sees Havertz train on a daily basis, is a better judge than most others and the the Leverkusen coach feels that the youngster has the elegance of Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.

He said: “Everyone is asking about Kai Havertz. If you see him play, it tells you everything. For me, he has the elegance of Zidane. If you see his movement, he’s very elegant, he’s always calm, he has great passing ability.”

“What a lot of people don’t see, because we watch him every day, is that he’s pretty fast. That’s a big bonus. I can’t say he will be the best German player ever, but he has the talent and there are no limits. He’s displaying signs of Zidane.”

Zinedine Zidane is one of the best attacking midfielders the game has ever seen and not many people have the quality to replicate what he has achieved for both club and country.

Havertz has had a phenomenal campaign for Leverkusen so far. The German has scored 15 goals and has provided eight assists in all competitions.

Le10 Sport have claimed that Zidane’s Real Madrid are also interested in the German and want to beat Liverpool for his signature this summer.

However, the two former Champions League winners will not be the only ones interested in signing him.

It will take a mammoth amount to convince Leverkusen to part ways with their young sensation but not many can argue that he isn’t worth the money.
