Messi and Ronaldo are the two greatest of all-time, and it’s hard for many to pick between the two legends.
On one hand, Ronaldo is closing in on scoring 1,000 goals – becoming the first player to ever hit that mark in official competitions.
However, on the other hand, Messi has won a World Cup, he plays a more majestic style and he has playmaking abilities that far exceed Ronaldo’s.
Speaking on The Late Run Podcast, WWE superstar CM Punk has now given his verdict on who is the better player between the two GOATs.

CM Punk may be a wrestler, but he’s a big football fan too.
The Second City Saint is known to be a big fan of Scottish team, Celtic, and while his main passions are ice hockey and wrestling, he knows a thing or two about football too.
According to the former WWE champion, Messi is better than Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi?” Punk was asked.
“I mean comparatively speaking to you two gentlemen here, I can’t do a stat battle. I can’t do a ‘Michael Jordan is better than LeBron’. I grew up in the era of the Bulls in Chicago, two Three-peats. I was there. I was parking cars. It’s hard for me, but for me, it’s Messi,” He said.
It’s always going to be difficult to answer this question, but the popular consensus at the moment is that Messi is better than Ronaldo.
The Argentine has won more Ballons d’Or, and crucially, he is a World Cup winner too.
Of course, Ronaldo has one last shot at winning the World Cup this year, and after two goals against Uzbekistan for Portugal this week, he seems intent on winning this tournament.
Regardless of who you prefer, any fan has to admit that these are two of the greatest players ever.
